I have been looking at google docs and I think it would work really well for my photoperiod project. The students have to do a lot of research as a group, and it is sometimes hard for me to tell how much work each student is doing. By using google docs, each student could write in a different color so I could see the amount of work they are doing. Also, it would save a lot of paper. The students could also easily communicate on the weekends, breaks, etc.

I agree! I can't get over the convenience of having one document that many can work from. I'm working with Cheryl over at the high school on a Google Docs assignment with her students...you'll have to compare notes and see if you can share tips/tricks.

I know parents would be much happier about not having to transport their kid to other peoples houses in order to work on this project. I'm sure that parents would also be happy that their kid is getting credit for the work they do. I know many parents can get upset when their kid does all the work, while everyone else sits around and picks their nose. I like the idea about color coordinating, but is it possible that a "dishonest" kid might change the color of someone else's work? Sorry to play the Devil's advocate!
